About the course

Did you know more than 70% of people aged 60 and over have progressive conditions that will need palliative and end of life care? Do you know what palliative and end of life care is about? It is much more than caring for people with cancer. And if it makes a difference, why wait?

We know that caregiving for an older person at the end of life is not easy. With this in mind, we developed a course where you will be asked to reflect in different topics, your own experience, participate in quizzes, and review and analyse provided materials like short videos and readings.

Section 1: What do we mean by end of life?

Section 2: Common symptoms

Section 3: Psychosocial and spiritual aspects

Section 4: What to expect in the last days of life

Section 5: Grief and bereavement
